the English landscape is a disappointment
resembling as it does nothing so much as a 1950s British school meal : a sludge of green-grey cabbage, yellow-grey mashed potato and pink-grey ground meat, all floating in a watery gravee…
but a certain sublety of tone and colour might lend itself to
